Die New Wave of British Heavy Metal-Kultband PAGAN ALTAR, die für ihre starke stilistische Orientierung am Doom Metal und Okkultismus bekannt ist, veröffentlicht Neuauflagen ihres 2004er Albums LORDS OF HYPOCRISY und ihres 1982er Debütalbums JUDGEMENT OF THE DEAD, das zum ersten Mal offiziell 2005 veröffentlicht wurde. Nachdem zuletzt 2017 über Temple of Mystery Records das posthume Album The Room of Shadows erschien, das die letzte Veröffentlichung mit ihrem 2015 verstorbenen Sänger Terry Jones ist, wurde Magic Circles Brendan Radigan als neuer Sänger bekannt gegeben. Eine aktuelle Veröffentlichung ist jedoch nicht absehbar, fällt es Gitarrist Alan Jones verständlicherweise sichtlich schwer, den Tod seines Bruders mit einem Fortführen des musikalischen Erbes zu verarbeiten.
Dennoch gibt es mit den Re-Releases, von denen für Herbst auch eines des 2006er Albums Mythical & Magical und der 2004er EP The Time Lord geplant ist, ein Schmankerl, da die beiden für 17. April angekündigten Alben längst vergriffen sind und lediglich gebraucht ab 50 Euro aufwärts erstanden werden können. Fans von PAGAN ALTAR oder Bands wie Witchfinder General und Black Sabbath bekommen so die Möglichkeit ihre Plattensammlung mit einer remasterten Version aufzustocken. Die Veröffentlichung von JUDGEMENT OF THE DEAD wird darüber hinaus ein 32-seitiges Booklet enthalten, das die Anfangsjahre der Band thematisiert. Die Re-Releases werden sowohl auf CD, als auch auf Vinyl und MC erhältlich sein und sind bereits vorbestellbar.

The New Wave of British Heavy Metal cult band PAGAN ALTAR, widely known for their strong stylistic orientation towards Doom Metal and occultism, releases re-issues of their Albums LORDS OF HYPOCRISY from 2004 and their debut JUDGEMENT OF THE DEAD from 1982, which was officially released for the first time in 2005. After their last posthumous album The Room of Shadows, which was released by Temple of Mystery Records in 2017, two years after the death of long time singer Terry Jones, PAGAN ALTAR announced Brendan Radigan of Magic Circle as their new singer. A new album is unforeseeable, because guitarist Alan Jones is understandably struggling with his brothers death and not yet able to proceed his musical heritage.
Yet, with the re-releases, of which two other (Mythical & Magical from 2006 and the EP The time lord from 2004) are scheduled for this year´s fall, there is a delicacy for fans, because both albums, that are scheduled for 17th of april, are only available second hand for prices over 50 euros and more. Fans of PAGAN ALTAR or bands like Witchfinder General and Black Sabbath now have the chance to extend their record collections with a remastered version which, in the case of JUDGEMENT OF THE DEAD includes a 32-pages booklet that details the early history of the band. The re-releases will be available as CD, Vinyl and MC and are already available for pre-order.
