Wir vom Hellfire bem\u00fchen uns dabei, (mehr oder weniger) kurz und pr\u00e4gnant im Rahmen von 5 Fragen zu agieren (manchmal kann eine Frage auch gedoppelt oder getrippelt sein); den Musikern obliegt es, nach ihrem Gutd\u00fcnken zu antworten: kurz und knapp bis hin zu ausschweifend und umfangreich.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Heute stellt sich Jeff Scott Soto von SOTO unseren Quick5 Fragen.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

HF: Als ich versucht habe zu verstehen in welchen Bands du aktiv bist, habe ich fast die \u00dcbersicht verloren. W\u00fcrdest du uns die verschiedenen Projekte, in denen du aktiv bist, bitte vorstellen? Was ist besonders an jedem Einzelnen?<\/strong><\/p>\n

JSS: Derzeit gilt mein Engagement und mein Interesse sie der Welt bekannt zu machen nur ZWEI, SOTO & Sons Of Apollo. Andere Dinge in meinem Leben wie W.E.T. und Tans-Siberian Orchestra sind Erg\u00e4nzungen zu meiner Karriere, aber die ersten beiden erw\u00e4hnten sind meine gr\u00f6\u00dfte Leidenschaft.<\/em><\/p>\n

HF: Ich muss zugeben, dass ich beeindruckt bin. Du arbeitest an so vielen verschiedenen Projekten und dir gelingt es, dass jedes Einzelne nicht nur funktioniert, sondern herausragend gut ist. Wie machst du das?<\/strong><\/p>\n

JSS: Danke, f\u00fcr mich ist es nicht allzu schwierig, da meine Arbeit immer mit Herz und Seele mache, auch wenn ich bei etwas mitmache, das nicht Teil des Gesamtplans ist. Mehr als 35 Jahre Erfahrung im Schreiben, Aufnehmen, Produzieren und Gestalten hilft mir in diese \u201eKomfortzone\u201c zu kommen, in der der Song zu mir spricht oder besser gesagt, sich selbst schreibt. In diesem Stadium meines Lebens bin ich endlich in der Lage, alle meine Einfl\u00fcsse durch alle meine Arbeiten flie\u00dfen zu lassen, w\u00e4hrend ich sie in der Vergangenheit irgendwie trennen musste, da die meisten Angst hatten oder nicht daran interessiert waren, \u00fcber den Tellerrand hinaus zu schauen.<\/em><\/p>\n

HF: Du scheinst immer mit Herz und Seele dabei zu sein, bei allem was du tust. Kannst du ein Projekt oder eine Band benennen, die dir besonders viel bedeutet und dies begr\u00fcnden?<\/strong><\/p>\n

JSS: Ich glaube, das habe ich bereits oben getan. Die Antwort ist, dass ich hier meine Kreativit\u00e4t ohne Vorurteile flie\u00dfen lassen kann. Die einzige Band von der ich das noch sagen kann war Talisman, dort habe ich wirklich gelernt meiner Kreativit\u00e4t einfach freien Lauf zu lassen, ohne mir Sorgen zu machen es k\u00f6nnte nicht funktionieren, ich habe gelernt, dass alles funktioniert, solange man davon wirklich \u00fcberzeugt ist.<\/em><\/p>\n

HF: Auf deinem Soloalbum konntest du jede Entscheidung treffen, nun hast du das neue Album deiner Band SOTO ver\u00f6ffentlicht, bei der alle Mitglieder Teil des kreativen Prozesses sind. Ist es f\u00fcr dich schwierig dich selbst zur\u00fcck zu nehmen und Teil eines Teams statt der Herrscher \u00fcber Alles zu sein? Wie gehst du mit den verschiedenen Rollen, die du in den unterschiedlichen Projekten inne hast um?<\/strong><\/p>\n

JSS: Nein, \u00fcberhaupt nicht! Ich treffe bei SOTO die letztendlichen Entscheidungen, obwohl ich mir den kreativen Prozess mit der Band teile. Wir wollen alle f\u00fcreinander nur das Beste, es ist also eher so, als w\u00fcrde es mich noch 4 weitere Male geben! Ich vertraue und respektiere meine Bandmitglieder mit jeder Faser meines Seins, und mit diesem Ideal gehen wir als Band in die Erschaffung neuer Songs, was mir wirklich Spass macht. Mit Sons of Apollo ist es genauso, mit beiden Bands ist es so, dass ich quasi \u201evalidiere\u201c was ich geschaffen habe, statt alleine zu entscheiden, dass es so umgesetzt wird.<\/em><\/p>\n

HF: Du konntest in deiner Karriere bisher viele verschiedene Erfahrungen und Eindr\u00fccke sammeln. Welche davon hatte den gr\u00f6\u00dften Einfluss auf dich?<\/strong><\/p>\n

JSS: Um ehrlich zu sein, muss ich dir diese allgemeine Antwort geben, dass ich alle brauchte und von allem gelernt habe, was ich bisher getan habe, ohne das Gute, das Schlechte und das H\u00e4ssliche (Haha) meiner Karriere, w\u00e4re ich nicht hier mit der Erfahrung und dem Einfluss, den sie alle auf mich hatten. Ein K\u00fcnstler, dem es wirklich wichtig ist, h\u00f6rt nie auf zu lernen und Wege zu finden, sich weiterzuentwickeln. Je mehr Erfahrung und Herausforderung, desto mehr Wirkung wird es auf mich haben, ich werde nie aufh\u00f6ren Erfahrungen regelrecht aufzusaugen um der Beste zu sein, der ich sein kann!<\/em><\/p>\n

Hellfire Quick 5 interviews try to gather a lot of interesting information within the narrow frame of five questions and five answers. Sometimes a query may be divided into two or three partial questions. It\u2019s up to the musicians to answer short, longer or excessively.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Today we talk to Jeff Scott Soto from SOTO.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

HF: I almost lost track, when I tried to comprehend in which bands you are active at the moment. Would you introduce your different active projects to us please? What is special on each one? <\/strong><\/p>\n

JSS: Currently only TWO in terms of my commitment and interest in bringing attention to the world, SOTO<\/strong> & Sons Of Apollo<\/strong>. Other items in my life such as W.E.T. and Trans-Siberian Orchestra are additions to my career but the 1^{st<\/sup> 2 mentioned are my number one passions.<\/em><\/p>\n}

HF: I have to admit, that I\u2019m impressed. You have so many different project to handle and you manage it to make every single one not only work, but be outstanding good. How do you do this?<\/strong><\/p>\n

JSS: Thank you, for me it\u2019s not too difficult as I do put in all of my heart and soul into my work, even if appearing on something that\u2019s not part of the overall plan. Having 35+ years of experience in writing, recording, producing and creating helps me with that \u2018comfort zone\u2019 of letting the song speak to me or rather, write itself. At this stage of my life, I am finally able to let all of my influences flow throughout all the work I do whereas in the past, I had to kinda segregate them as most were afraid or not interested in thinking outside the normal box.<\/em><\/p>\n

HF: You seem to put all your heart and soul in everything you do. Could you name a project or band that means most to you and why?<\/strong><\/p>\n

JSS: I believe I already did above and that answer is because I can let my creativity flow without prejudice. The only other band I can say I was able to this with was Talisman, this is where I truly learned to let it flow without worrying it wouldn\u2019t work, I learned there EVERYTHING works as long as you\u2019re honestand confident about it.<\/em><\/p>\n

HF: On your solo album you could decide everything, now you released the new album of your band \u201eSOTO\u201c, where all members are part of the creative process. Is it hard for you to step back and be part of a team instead of the master of everything? How do you handle your different roles you have in your different projects?<\/strong><\/p>\n

JSS: Not at all! I am the final say with SOTO even though I share the creative process with the band. We all have each other\u2019s best interest at heart so to be honest, it\u2019s like multiplying me with 4 others! I trust and respect my bandmates with every fiber of my being so we create with ideal of this as a band which I thoroughly enjoy. Same with Sons Of Apollo, with both bands, I go for \u201avalidation\u2018 of what I create instead of deciding it\u2019s done on my own.<\/em><\/p>\n

HF: You could gather a lot of different experiences and impressions throughout your career so far. What was the one that had the biggest impact on you?<\/strong><\/p>\n

JSS: To be honest, I have to give you the generic reply of I needed and learned from ALL I have done to date, without the good, the bad and the ugly haha, of my career, I wouldn\u2019t be here with the education and impact they all offered. An artist who truly cares never stops learning and finding ways to move forward. The more experience and challenge, the more impact so for me, I will never stop soaking up the experience of being the best I can be!<\/em><\/p>\n
