\u2013 English version below-<\/strong><\/p>\n Mit dem Hellfire Quick5 Interview versuchen wir f\u00fcr unsere Leser m\u00f6glichst interessante Infos aus den Musikern rauszukitzeln, ohne dass sie sich seitenlangen Fragen\/Antworten hingeben m\u00fcssen. Wir vom Hellfire bem\u00fchen uns dabei, (mehr oder weniger) kurz und pr\u00e4gnant im Rahmen von 5 Fragen zu agieren (manchmal kann eine Frage auch gedoppelt oder getrippelt sein); den Musikern obliegt es, nach ihrem Gutd\u00fcnken zu antworten: kurz und knapp bis hin zu ausschweifend und umfangreich.<\/strong><\/p>\n Diesmal sprachen wir mit Kirk Backarach, Gitarrist der d\u00e4nischen Power Metaller IRON FIRE, die gerade ihr neues Album \u201cBeyond The Void\u201d ver\u00f6ffentlicht haben (das Review findet ihr HIER<\/a>).<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n HF: Zun\u00e4chst mal Gratulation zu eurem fantastischen neuen Album! F\u00fcr “Beyond The Void” habt ihr mit Produzentenlegende Tue Madsen zusammengearbeitet. Was war der Grund daf\u00fcr, dass ihr ihn gew\u00e4hlt habt und wie zufrieden seid ihr mit dem Ergebnis?<\/strong><\/p>\n KB: Wenn ein Album vollst\u00e4ndig geschrieben ist, sitzen wir immer zusammen und reden dar\u00fcber, wen wir gerne f\u00fcr das Mixing h\u00e4tten. Normalerweise sind diejenigen, mit denen wir gerne zusammenarbeiten m\u00f6chten, entweder zu teuer oder sie haben keine freie Zeit in ihrem Zeitplan, aber <\/em>diesmal hatten wir Gl\u00fcck, Tue Madsen machte uns ein Angebot, das wir nicht ablehnen konnten. Er stand schon immer auf der Liste der Produzenten, mit denen wir gerne zusammenarbeiten w\u00fcrden, wegen der krachenden Drums, der aggressiven Gitarren und insgesamt seinen ausgewogenen Mixes. <\/em>Gl\u00fccklicherweise haben wir genau das bekommen. Tue hat alle unsere Erwartungen erf\u00fcllt.<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n HF: Wie lief der Songwriting-Prozess f\u00fcr “Beyond The Void” ab? Gab es Ver\u00e4nderungen im Vergleich zu fr\u00fcheren Iron Fire Alben? Und warum hat es letztlich zweieinhalb Jahre seit “Among The Dead” gedauert, um das neue Album an den Start zu bringen?<\/strong><\/p>\n KB: Steene hat s\u00e4mtliche Songs f\u00fcr dieses Album geschrieben, es war eigentlich schon vor einiger Zeit fertig, aber wegen der Ver\u00f6ffentlichung von “Dawn of Creation”, unserem Jubil\u00e4umsalbum, mussten wir die Ver\u00f6ffentlichung von “Beyond the Void” um ein Jahr verschieben.<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n HF: Kommen wir zu den Kritiken, ich nehme doch mal stark an, ich bin nicht der einzige, der von eurem Album begeistert ist. Wie sind die bisherigen Reaktionen und wie denkt ihr selbst \u00fcber das Album, nachdem ihr einige Rezensionen gelesen habt?<\/strong><\/p>\n KB: Die Rezensionen f\u00fcr dieses Album waren bis auf wenige Ausnahmen sehr positiv. Schon vor der Ver\u00f6ffentlichung konnte ich sp\u00fcren, dass es ein sehr starkes Album war, also bin ich sehr froh, dass es so gut angenommen wurde. Ich nehme Rezensionen normalerweise nicht <\/em>pers\u00f6nlich, aber diesmal k\u00f6nnte es der Fall sein, da wir diesmal so viele gute Reviews erhalten haben. Wenn die Reaktionen nur negativ ausfallen w\u00fcrden, wei\u00df ich nicht, was ich tun w\u00fcrde…. Vielleicht w\u00fcrde ich meine Gitarre bei Ebay verkaufen…..<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n HF: Wart ihr schon einmal an einem Punkt, an dem ihr kurz davor wart, die Band aufzul\u00f6sen, und falls ja, was hat euch bewogen dann doch weiter zu machen?<\/strong><\/p>\n KB: Wei\u00dft du….in jeder Band gibt es Diskrepanzen und Auseinandersetzungen. F\u00fcr uns war es das gr\u00f6\u00dfte, Freunde zu bleiben, zumal keiner von uns das hier macht, um davon zu leben, es w\u00fcrde den ganzen Spa\u00df daran nehmen, wenn wir st\u00e4ndig \u00fcber alles streiten und uns in die Wolle kriegen w\u00fcrden. <\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n HF: Iron Fire existieren seit mehr als zwanzig Jahren und habt eine Menge Songs geschrieben, welcher eurer Songs bedeutet euch am meisten und warum?<\/strong><\/p>\n KB: Das kann man unm\u00f6glich sagen, jedes Lied ist eine Darstellung eines Denkprozesses, den du durchgemacht hast, also tendiere ich wahrscheinlich dazu, mehr Sympathie f\u00fcr die Songs zu haben, die es nicht ganz geschafft haben, wie “The Afterlife” oder “From the North”, sie verdienten mehr Anerkennung.<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n HF: Au\u00dfer einem Auftritt beim “Tornvang Open Air” habe ich keine Live-Auftritte ausfindig machen k\u00f6nnen. Plant ihr mit “Beyond The Void” auf Tour zu gehen und f\u00fchrt euer Weg m\u00f6glicherweise auch nach Deutschland?<\/strong><\/p>\n KB: Hoffentlich! Wie du schon sagtest, haben wir noch keine gro\u00dfen Pl\u00e4ne, also m\u00fcssen wir mal abwarten und schauen, was uns so einf\u00e4llt.<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n HF: Ein paar letzte Worte an unsere Leser?<\/strong><\/p>\n KB: Wenn ihr euch unser aktuelles Album “Beyond the Void” anh\u00f6rt, hoffe ich, dass es euch genauso gut gef\u00e4llt wie uns. It\u2019s up to the musicians to answer short, longer or excessively.<\/strong><\/p>\n This time we talked to Kirk Backarach, guitarist of the Danish power metal band IRON FIRE, who just released their new album “Beyond The Void” (the review can be found HERE<\/a>).<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n HF: First of all congratulations on your fantastic new album! On “Beyond The Void” you worked together with producer legend Tue Madsen (Mixing and Mastering). What was the reason why you chose him and how satisfied are you with the result?<\/strong><\/p>\n KB: When an album has been written in its entirety, we always sit and talk about who we would like to do the mixing. Usually the ones we would like to work with is either too expensive or they don\u2019t have time in their schedule, but this time we got lucky, Tue Madsen made an offer we couldn\u2019t refuse. Tue have always been on the list of producers we would like to work with, because of his smashing drums, aggressive guitars and overall well balanced mixes. Lucky enough for us, we got just that. Tue have lived up to all expectations for us.<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n HF: How was the songwriting process for “Beyond The Void”? Were there any changes compared to previous Iron Fire albums? And why did it take two and a half years since “Among The Dead” to launch the new album?<\/strong><\/p>\n KB: Steene has written all the material for this album, in fact it was ready quite a while ago, but due to the release of Dawn of Creation our anniversary compilation album, we had to postpone the release of Beyond the Void about a year.<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n HF: Let’s come to the reviews, I suppose I’m not the only one who is enthusiastic about your new album. What are the reactions so far and how do you think about the album after reading some reviews?<\/strong><\/p>\n KB: The reviews for this album have been very positive, with only a few exceptions. From before the release I could feel that it was a very strong album, so I\u2019m very happy that it has been so well received. I usually don\u2019t take reviews personal, but that might be since we\u2019ve got so many good ones this time, if the reaction was only negative, I don\u2019t know what I\u2019d do\u2026 Maybe sell my guitar on ebay…<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n HF: Have you ever been to a point where you were about to break up the band, and if so, what moved you to continue?<\/strong><\/p>\n KB: You know\u2026 in every band there is discrepancies and arguments. For us It have been a big thing to stay friends, since none of us are doing this for living, it would take all the fun out of it if we were constantly arguing and fighting about everything. <\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n HF: Iron Fire have existed for more than twenty years and have written a lot of songs, which of your songs means the most to you and why?<\/strong><\/p>\n KB: That is impossible to choose, every song is a representation of some thought process you\u2019ve been through, so I probably tend to have more sympathy with the that didn\u2019t quite make it through, like The Afterlife or From the North, they deserved better recognition.<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n HF: Except one gig at the “Tornvang Open Air” I couldn’t find any live gigs for this year. Are you planning to go on tour with “Beyond The Void” and maybe your way leads to Germany?<\/strong><\/p>\n KB: Hopefully! Like you said we don\u2019t have that many plans of just yet, so we will have to wait and see what we can come up with.<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n HF: A few last words to our readers?<\/strong><\/p>\n KB: When you will be checking out our latest album “Beyond the Void” I hope you will enjoy it as much as we did making it.
