Atreyu<\/strong> sind eine Band meiner Jugend, besonders ihren Song \u201eRight side of the bed\u201c habe ich rauf- und runtergeh\u00f6rt. Doch haben sich Atreyu in eine Richtung entwickelt die meinen Geschmack nicht mehr bedient. Nicht viel ist \u00fcbrig geblieben aus der Zeit von \u201eSuicide Notes and Butterfly Kisses\u201c bis \u201eA death-grip on yesterday\u201c. Genau wie ‘Papa Roach’ mit \u201eCrooked Teeth\u201c scheinen Atreyu sich mit \u201eIn our wake\u201c an eine breitere Masse richten zu wollen und bedienen einen aufgeblasenen, radiotauglichen Sound. F\u00fcr Fans von \u201eCrooked Teeth\u201c erscheint mir die Platte als Referenzwert bestens geeignet, bei mir wird sie jedoch nach dem Durchh\u00f6ren f\u00fcr die Rezension eher schnell wieder in Vergessenheit geraten.<\/p>\n

Immer mal wieder klingen in Songs wie \u201eNothing will ever change\u201c Elemente an, die mir immer an den ersten Atreyu-Scheiben gefallen haben, doch der Titel straft sich selbst L\u00fcgen. Denn gerade “Safety pin”, als Tiefpunkt des Albums beweist, dass sich etwas ge\u00e4ndert hat und ich mein Atreyu-Kapitel wohl hiermit abschlie\u00dfen und lieber weiterhin auf die von mir gelobten Klassiker \u201eEx\u00b4s and Oh\u00b4s\u201c, \u201eLip gloss and black\u201c, \u201eThe crimson\u201c oder \u201eBleeding mascara\u201c zur\u00fcckgreifen werde. Der neue Atreyu-Sound erinnert mich an einen Mix aus neueren Papa Roach, Avenged Sevenfold und Imagine Dragons. Nicht meine Welt.<\/p>\n

Daher gibt es von mir auch nur 4 von 10 Hellfire Punkten<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
