Saxon haben sich \u00fcber Jahrzehnte hinweg von Pionieren der New Wave Of British Heavy Metal zu einem der erfolgreichsten britischen Rock-Acts aller Zeiten entwickelt. Fakt ist dabei, dass Saxon sich dabei stets au\u00dferhalb der Grenzen von Trends und des Angesagten bewegten. Vom 1979er Album “Saxon” bis hin zum aktuellen Werk “Thunderbolt”, erfreute sich die Band beachtlicher Erfolge. F\u00fcnf-Top-40-Alben in UK, dazu 4 Top-20 Singles und \u00e4hnliche Erfolge feierten sie auch in andern Teilen der Welt, rund um den Globus. <\/p>\n

Saxons f\u00fcnftes Album “Power & the Glory” erschien erstmalig am 21. M\u00e4rz 1983 und wurde von Jeff Glixman in den Axis Studios in Atlanta produziert. Es enthielt nicht nur die beiden Singles “Nightmare” und “Power & the Glory”, sondern markierte auch den Einstieg von Nigel Glockler, der Pete Gill ersetze und bis heute ein Mitglied von Saxon ist. <\/p>\n

Die mir vorliegende Remastered – Deluxe Edition enth\u00e4lt zu den acht obligatorischen Tracks als Bonus fr\u00fche Arbeitsdemos (1982) von Songs des Album inklusive zweier Titel, die es nicht auf das Album schafften. Insgesamt finde ich hier 17 Titel vor. Anspieltipps meinerseits sind: “Power and the Glory “, “Redline”, “This Town Rocks” und “The Eagle Has Landed”, aber auch alle anderen ziehen mich in den Bann!<\/p>\n

F\u00fcr mich ist dieses ein Kultalbum, ein Meilenstein der Metalgeschichte und in dieser Edition ein wunderbares St\u00fcck Sammlung!<\/p>\n
