Wie heute auf der offiziellen Judas Priest Website bekannt gegeben wurde, wird Glenn Tipton bei der anstehenden Firepower-Tour aus gesundheitlichen Gr\u00fcnden nicht mehr auf der B\u00fchne stehen.<\/p>\n

Vor 10 Jahren wurde bei Glenn, einer der Gr\u00fcndungsmitglieder von Judas Priest, Parkinson im Fr\u00fchstadium diagnostiziert. Glenn gibt sich dennoch gewohnt k\u00e4mpferisch und optimistisch. Er k\u00f6nne zwar noch weniger anspruchsvolle Songs spielen, aber kann leider nicht mehr mit der Band auf Tour gehen.<\/p>\n

Ein harter Schlag, nicht nur f\u00fcr den 70-j\u00e4hrigen Glenn, sondern auch f\u00fcr die Band und die Fans weltweit, welche im M\u00e4rz ihr 18. Studio-Album ver\u00f6ffentlichen und das schon jetzt als Album des Jahres gefeiert wird.<\/p>\n

Auf besonderen Wunsch von Glenn, wird ihn Andy Sneap (geb. 18.07.1969), ein englischer Musikproduzent, Toningenieur, Gitarrist und Komponist, ersetzen. Bekannt ist er f\u00fcr die Produktion vieler Metal-Alben und ist somit kein unbeschriebenes Blatt in der Szene. So hat er auch, neben Tom Allom, als Produzent bei “Firepower” mitgewirkt.<\/p>\n

Glenn wird Judas Priest aber nicht verlassen, es kommt eher zu einem Rollentausch. Wenn es sein Zustand zul\u00e4sst, wird er vielleicht auch zeitweise auf der B\u00fchne stehen. <\/p>\n

Ten years ago Glenn was diagnosed to have the onset of the early stages of Parkinson\u2019s – from then until recently Glenn has lived his life as the great heavy metal guitar player he has always been, maintaining by his own definition a standard of quality and performance that is incredibly important.<\/em><\/p>\n

Right now Glenn is able to play and perform some of the Priest songs that are less challenging but due to the nature of Parkinson’s progression he wants to let you all know that he won’t be touring as such –<\/em><\/p>\n

True to the metal spirit of ‘the show must go on’ Glenn has requested Andy Sneap to fly the flag on stage for him<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI want everyone to know that it\u2019s vital that the Judas Priest tour go ahead and that I am not leaving the band – it\u2019s simply that my role has changed. I don\u2019t rule out the chance to go on stage as and when I feel able to blast out some Priest! So at some point in the not too distant future I\u2019m really looking forward to seeing all of our wonderful metal maniacs once again\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
