Aus Finnland erwartet man musikalisch ja mehr Black Metal oder (Melodic) Death, Gothic usw. Jedenfalls viel mit Melancholie und Melodie. Daher bin ich auch erstmal verwundert, dass nun die erste EP der Band RED RAVEN DOWN vor mir liegt. Erst seit letztem Jahr aktiv, folgt nach den zuvor ver\u00f6ffentlichten Singles “The vale of shadows” und “Wreckage” nun die EP PHANTOMS.
\nVier neue Songs (inkl. kurzem Intro), f\u00fcr meine Begriffe f\u00fcr Finnland ungew\u00f6hnlich. Wieso? Weil die f\u00fcnf Jungs Metalcore spielen.<\/p>\n

Doch w\u00e4ren es keine Finnen, wenn die Songs neben der gesunden, genretypischen H\u00e4rte, keine sch\u00f6nen Melodien h\u00e4tten. Das INTRO weist schon den Weg, denn ASHES nimmt das Thema auf und kommt recht verhalten aus den Boxen. Die typischen Shouts pr\u00e4gen den Song, und schon hier zeigen die melodischen Gitarrensoli, dass es doch wirklich Finnen sind.
\nPHANTOMS geht rockiger, etwas gem\u00e4chlicher zu Werke. Hier ist man nah dran am Melodic Death Metal, auch wenn die Vocals hier wieder mehr an Metalcore erinnern. Und bei ROTTEN gibt es wieder Metalcore amerikanischer Pr\u00e4gung, Killswitch Engage lassen gr\u00fc\u00dfen.<\/p>\n

Gelungene \u00dcberraschung. Finnischer Metalcore mit viel Melodie und amerikanischer H\u00e4rte. Wer h\u00e4tte das gedacht. Da sind wir doch schon mal auf ein hoffentlich kommendes erstes Album gespannt. Gerne mehr davon!<\/p>\n
