ATRIARCH sind eine Band aus Portland \/ USA und wurden 2009 gegr\u00fcndet. 2011 erschien das Deb\u00fct Album, 2012 und 2014 folgten weitere.<\/p>\n

Mit neuem Label im R\u00fccken erschien nun das vierte Studioalbum DEAD AS TRUTH. Sechs Songs mit einer Gesamtspieldauer von etwas mehr als einer halben Stunde.
\nDie Band versprach im Vorfeld, das Album werde trostloser, hypnotischer und explosiver sein als alle anderen Ver\u00f6ffentlichungen zuvor.<\/p>\n

Ich finde, die Songs sind schwer zug\u00e4nglich. Ein wilder Mix aus Death Rock, Doom und Black Metal. Prinzipiell dreht es sich in den Texten rund um Tod, Verderben und Entt\u00e4uschungen. Gesanglich kommt das in den Liedern unterschiedlich zur Geltung. Sei es durch schnellen und langsamen Sprechgesang, Geschrei oder Gekreische. Das h\u00f6rt sich leider nicht immer sch\u00f6n an, soll es wohl auch nicht.<\/p>\n

Das klingt leider nicht alles so prickelnd, aber die beiden Songs DEAD und DEVOLVER sind dann noch die st\u00e4rksten. Liegt wohl daran, dass sie mehr Death Rock sind als ein wildes Durcheinander. Dagegen gehen INFERNO und VOID (mein heimlicher Favorit) schon als reine Doom Tracks durch.
\nEin abwechslungsreiches aber anstrengendes Album. Kann man mal h\u00f6ren, muss man aber nicht. Daf\u00fcr ist das Cover Artwork \u00e4u\u00dferst gelungen.<\/p>\n
