Psychedelischer Space Rock f\u00fcr Fortgeschrittene \u2013 so k\u00f6nnte man die Musik von The Cosmic Dead<\/strong> bezeichnen. Leichte Kost ist “Infinite Peaks<\/strong>“, das bereits neunte Album der Band, n\u00e4mlich nicht. Auch f\u00fcr mich, nicht unbedingt unbedarft in dem Genre, ist es mit Sicherheit keine Musik, mit der ich in den Tag starte. Als Soundtrack zum Wegdriften oder auch mal zum Einschlafen eignen sich die zwei monumentalen Nummern von je \u00fcber 20 Minuten Spielzeit aber hervorragend.<\/p>\n

“Navigator #9” beginnt langsam, hypnotisch, durchaus bedrohlich, l\u00e4dt ein zum Trip in die eigene Psyche. Wenn man sich darauf einl\u00e4sst, dann kann man schon ein paar spannende Sachen sehen \u2013 mit geschlossenen Augen, versteht sich. Hintenraus wird die Nummer immer schneller, so dass man sich ein bisschen an den finalen Farbenrausch im Film “2001: A Space Odyssey” erinnern kann.<\/p>\n

Stichwort Space: “Space Mountain” hei\u00dft die zweite Nummer, und anders als die erste kommt sie ziemlich schnell zum Punkt, beharrt dann gewisserma\u00dfen aber auch auf eben diesem Punkt. Im Prinzip handelt es sich um einen auf 20 Minuten gestreckten M\u00f6rder-Groove, bei dem sich s\u00e4mtliche Bandmitglieder so richtig austoben. Das ist immer laut, oft ist es auch l\u00e4rmig, was es aber immer ist: mitrei\u00dfend.<\/p>\n

Fazit: Keine leichte Kost, trotzdem delikat \u2013 8 von 10 Hellfire-Punkten<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
