Mortajas<\/strong> aus Chile sind neben Purification die spannendste neue Band, die das Genre Doom Metal in den letzten f\u00fcnf Jahren erlebt hat. Was das Quartett auf seinem ersten und nun auch auf seinem zweiten Album abliefert, ist nicht nur Doom in Perfektion, es ist mehr. Denn wiederum packt die Band als absolute Kr\u00f6nung einen Song auf das Album, der die Genregrenzen um eine ungeahnte Dimension erweitert.<\/p>\n

Das mit einer Armada an spanischen Akustikgitarren angereicherte \u201cBajo un Nuevo Sol\u201d ist schlicht und ergreifend ein Lied f\u00fcr die Ewigkeit! Es startet, wie k\u00f6nnte es anders sein, ganz langsam, steigt ab Minute sechs gen Himmel und zieht zum Finale in beeindruckender Geschwindigkeit (und mit Doublebassdrums) Richtung Horizont davon. Ich kann es kaum in Worte fassen, wie sehr mich dieser Song ergreift!<\/p>\n

Ergreifend und mit sensibler Bedacht aufgebaut sind die anderen vier, eher genretypisch instrumentierten Songs allerdings auch. Allen gemein ist der herausragende Gesang von Bassist und Bandleader Marcos Contreras<\/span><\/em> \u2013 f\u00fcr mich aktuell die Doom-Stimme \u00fcberhaupt. Eine einzige Sache st\u00f6rt mich: Die Seufzer, die zum Ende von \u201cMiedo y Dolor\u201d auf jedes \u201cNo!\u201d folgen, sind mir dann doch eine Spur zu theatralisch.<\/p>\n

Nichtsdestoweniger: 9 von 10 Hellfire-Punkten<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
