Die Instrumental-Psychedeliker Acid Rooster<\/strong> aus Leipzig legen mit “Flowers & Dead Souls<\/strong>” ihr drittes Album vor \u2014 und dabei bleibt der Name der Band wiederum Programm. Soll hei\u00dfen: Das Album bietet sich bestens als Soundtrack f\u00fcr den n\u00e4chsten LSD-Trip an, aber auch ohne bewusstseinserweiternde Substanzen entfaltet es einiges an Wirkung.<\/p>\n

\u00dcber die ersten drei St\u00fccke, alle eher im gem\u00e4chlichen Bereich unterwegs, baut sich “Flowers & Dead Souls<\/strong>” behutsam auf, wobei auch jede einzelne Nummer sozusagen “en miniature” gekonnt auf ihren H\u00f6hepunkt zusteuert \u2013 und diesen jeweils auch erreicht. Das Spiel mit dem Spannungsaufbau und der anschlie\u00dfenden Erl\u00f6sung beherrscht die Band jedenfalls. <\/p>\n

Seinen H\u00f6hepunkt erreicht “Flowers & Dead Souls<\/strong>” mit dem vierten St\u00fcck, dem recht flotten “Dead Bodies”. Danach \u00fcberstrapaziert das Album meine Geduld aber etwas. Mit “Heaven Scent” pl\u00e4tschert es zwar \u00e4therisch-angenehm aus, das zwischenzeitliche “Good Mourning” wirkt auf mich jedoch ein bisschen wie ein Ausbremser.<\/p>\n

Ein Song weniger w\u00e4re hier ein Punkt mehr gewesen. So sind’s unterm Strich halt nur 7 von 10 Hellfire-Punkten<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
