Mournful Congregation<\/strong> sind im Bereich Funeral Doom eine echte Institution: Seit 30 Jahren gibt es die Band aus Australien bereits, geschw\u00e4chelt hat sie Zeit ihres Bestehens nie. Was auch daran liegen d\u00fcrfte, dass die Jungs nicht alle zwei Jahre mit einem neuen Release um die Ecke kommen, sondern nur dann, wenn sie wirklich was zu sagen haben. Dieses Mal war die Wartezeit recht kurz, denn “The Exuviae of Gods: Part II<\/strong>” ist im Prinzip ja auch nur die Fortsetzung von Part I aus dem letzten Jahr und wie der Vorg\u00e4nger offiziell nur eine EP \u2013 obwohl diese mit einer Spielzeit von 40 Minuten Albuml\u00e4nge hat.<\/p>\n

In 40 Minuten passen bei Mournful Congregation<\/strong> nat\u00fcrlich nicht allzu viele Songs, hier sind es gerade einmal drei St\u00fcck. Doch kann man sich darauf verlassen, dass es sich um drei gute Songs handelt. Denn schlechte Songs machen Mournful Congregation<\/strong> einfach nicht. Wiederum darf man also Funeral Doom mit gutturalem Gesang erleben, an dem das einzig Extreme die L\u00e4nge der Songs ist. Hei\u00dft konkret: “The Exuviae of Gods: Part II<\/strong>” ist gekennzeichnet durch sensibles, dramaturgisch reifes Songwriting sowie eine bed\u00e4chtige, blitzsaubere Produktion, bei der niemand wirklich im Mittelpunkt steht, aber alle voll zur Geltung kommen. Was will man mehr von einer EP?<\/p>\n
