Im klar dreckig rohen und eingepacktem Soundgewand einiger Ver\u00f6ffentlichungen der 90er im todesmetallischen Bereich, pr\u00e4sentiert mir das Death-Metal Quartett aus der Stadt der Engel, Los Angeles, anderthalb Jahre r\u00fcckblickend ihre Deb\u00fct-EP, die auf den Namen “The Crescent and the Cross<\/em>” h\u00f6rt und 23:15 min. geht und l\u00e4uft.<\/p>\n

“The Last Roman Throne<\/strong>” er\u00f6ffnet mit 6-Saiter gem\u00e4chlich, bevor die Drums sich dazugesellen und die ber\u00fchmte Post, mit einigen Richtungswechseln, abgeht, w\u00e4hrend es zum Ende hin leicht doomig alles ausklingt. “Ominous Signs and Ill Omens<\/strong>” bietet schwere Geradlinigkeit, das sich ein wenig ab der Mitte, wo alles gedrosselter dargeboten wird \u00e4ndert und endend wieder dem anf\u00e4nglich gespielten fr\u00f6nt. Das Drumspiel fand ich hier etwas monoton, was sich aber mit “One Thousand Years Standing<\/strong>” kreativ verbessert und ich hier das Gef\u00fchl bekomme, das jenem mehr Druck geg\u00f6nnt wurde und dies in meine Ohren bringt. Spielerisch hat man es wieder aufgeteilt wie bei einem Zweikomponentenkleber, mal schnell, mal gediegener.<\/p>\n

“Conquest<\/strong>” klingt schmerzbehaftet, dr\u00fcckend, ist mit fetten Riffs gef\u00fcllt und die Backing-Vocals werden sch\u00f6n tief von Jordan Ruble<\/em> gef\u00fcllt, wobei ich aber nun nach fast vier geh\u00f6rten Titeln feststellen muss, dass das Gesangliche von Frontmann Joe Van Fossen <\/em>sich nicht gro\u00df von allen und allem anderen vorher unterscheidet, will hei\u00dfen: die Darbietung ist gut, aber ein Hauch mehr Kreativit\u00e4t in jener h\u00e4tte auch nicht geschadet. Nun gut, das ist meine Meinung, eure mag eine andere sein……zwinker und “Dawn of the Modern World<\/strong>” beschlie\u00dft das Ganze energiegeladen, bleischwer und l\u00e4nger ausklingend.<\/p>\n

Fazit:<\/strong> ..eine gute EP, aber gesanglich kann und k\u00f6nnte man sich noch ausdehnen und erweitern..<\/p>\n
