H\u00f6wler<\/strong> kommen aus Costa Rica und legen mit “Descendants of Evil<\/strong>” ihr viertes Album vor. Und eigentlich muss man nur aufs Cover schauen, um zu wissen, was einen erwartet: genau, Thrash. Und so kompetent das Cover illustriert ist, so kompetent gehen H\u00f6wler<\/strong> in den 9 plus 1 (akustisches Interlude) Songs zu Werke: Kettens\u00e4gen-Riffs und wilde Soli en masse, Double-Bass-Drums und Tempowechsel galore und eine Bassgitarre, die eins zu eins so klingt die von D.D. Verni auf “W.F.O.” (Overkill). Dazu der gef\u00e4llige Gesang: recht rau, nicht zu hoch \u2013 so wie ich es mag. Alles gut also? Nein, nicht ganz.<\/p>\n

Fr\u00fcher mal ein echter Thrash-Enthusiast, muss ich mittlerweile doch zugeben, dass diese metallmusikalische Stilrichtung nicht mehr so ganz mein Ding ist. Noch weniger dann, wenn der Sound so klinisch und steril ist wie hier \u2014 und bei vielen anderen Bands der New School of Old School Thrash Metal auch. Um ehrlich zu sein, habe ich nach der H\u00e4lfte der 45 Minuten genug. Was nicht hei\u00dfen soll, dass Thrash-Fans hier nicht bedenkenlos zugreifen kann. Ich denke, das k\u00f6nnen sie. Mein eigenes H\u00f6rvergn\u00fcgen ist jedoch mit 6 von 10 HELLFIRE-Punkten<\/strong> korrekt beschrieben.<\/p>\n
