Gut zwei Jahre nach ihrem Deb\u00fct kehren SpellBook<\/strong> mit “Deadly Charms” zur\u00fcck. Und in der Tat hat das Quartett aus Pennsylvania nichts von seinem Killercharme verloren. Eher noch eine Schippe drauf gelegt.<\/p>\n

Soll hei\u00dfen: Melodie und Harmonie werden nach wie vor ganz gro\u00df geschrieben. Was nicht ins Ohr geht, davon l\u00e4sst die Band die Finger. Und das muss man sich erstmal leisten k\u00f6nnen. Denn manche haben alle H\u00e4nde voll zu tun \u2014 und kriegen trotzdem keinen Ohrwurm zustande. SpellBook <\/strong>scheinen solche hingegen locker von der Hand zu gehen.<\/p>\n

Erfreulicherweise haben die Leute im Aufnahmestudio “Deadly Charms<\/strong>” auch einen Sound kredenzt, der seinem Titel voll und ganz gerecht wird: SpellBook <\/strong>klingen anno 2022 gleicherma\u00dfen fett und organisch. Auch der Mix l\u00e4sst keinerlei W\u00fcnsche offen: S\u00e4mtliche Instrumente, auch die Bassgitarre, sind zu jedem Zeitpunkt klar und deutlich zu h\u00f6ren. Sowas mag ich ja besonders. <\/p>\n

Eigentlich gibt’s hier gar nichts zu meckern. Nur das gleiche “Problemchen” wie beim Deb\u00fct: So richtig mitten ins Herz trifft mich “Deadly Charms<\/strong>” dann doch nicht. Anh\u00f6ren tu ich\u2019s mir trotzdem ganz gern.<\/p>\n
