Wenn man \u2013 wie ich \u2013 in den 90ern geboren wurde und auf Rock und Metal stand (und steht), gab es einige Bands, die mit einer unhinterfragten Selbstverst\u00e4ndlichkeit die Musikanlage belagerten. Dazu z\u00e4hlten neben Limp Bizkit und Slipknot auch Korn. Mit \u201eRequiem\u201c bringen die Neu-Metaller um S\u00e4nger Jonathan Davis nun ihr 14. Studioalbum an den Start.<\/p>\n

Als jemand der nach Album Nummer 6 \u201eTake a Look in the Mirror\u201c ausgestiegen ist, bin ich \u00fcberrascht, wie sehr der Pop Einzug gehalten hat. Was ich bei Korn immer mochte, waren der Bass von Reginald \u201eFieldy\u201c Arvizu und Davis\u2018 unheimlicher Gesang. Leider muss ich feststellen: Der Bass ist in den Hintergrund ger\u00fcckt und der Gesang ist mittlerweile weitgehend massentauglich und uninteressant geworden. \u00c4hnlich wenig Abwechslung bieten die Riffs. Die Songs \u201eHopeless and Beaten\u201c und \u201eMy Confession\u201c geh\u00f6ren zu den Ausnahmen.<\/p>\n

F\u00fcr Korn-Fans ist das Album sicherlich solide, wenn auch kein gro\u00dfer Wurf. So wirklich Nu ist am Metal von Korn nach fast 30 Jahren nichts mehr. Eher Schema F. Vielleicht ist der Name Programm: Requiem!<\/p>\n
