Mal wieder eine dieser Bands, die ich mir schon lange unbedingt mal anh\u00f6ren will. Und dann kommt schon das n\u00e4chste Album raus. Und wieder schaffe ich es nicht. Bei Album Nummer vier sind die Kritikerlieblinge Rivers of Nihil<\/strong> nun f\u00e4llig.<\/p>\n

Und, was soll ich sagen? Mir gef\u00e4llt’s echt nicht. Ohne jeden Zweifel sind da verdammt gute Musiker am Werk. Aber meine Freude beim Zuh\u00f6ren ist doch ziemlich begrenzt.<\/p>\n

Das liegt haupts\u00e4chlich daran, dass es mir zur H\u00f6lle nicht in den Kopf geht, wie man Musik, die “auf Teufel komm raus” komplex ist, mit einem derart undifferenzierten Klangbild versehen kann. In den ruhigeren Passagen geht’s noch. Aber sobald es ein bisschen lauter wird, ist es einfach nur noch L\u00e4rm.<\/p>\n

Vielleicht verbergen sich dahinter megageile, abgefahrene Songs, die es sich lohnt, zu erarbeiten. Das kann sein. Nur kann ich sie nicht h\u00f6ren.<\/p>\n

Ich mag’s deshalb mal so vergleichen: Eine Doku \u00fcber den Urwald ist auf einem 4K-Fernseher unglaublich sch\u00f6n. In einem grobk\u00f6rnigen YouTube-Video hingegen geht die Magie verloren.<\/p>\n

In etwa deshalb gibt’s von mir nur 4 von 10 HELLFIRE<\/strong><\/em>-Punkten.<\/p>\n
