\u201eThe Flight Of Sleipnir\u201c, f\u00fcnf Fragen an das Quartett aus Colorado\/USA. Bin sehr gespannt, was ich von dem Vierer erfahren werde. Clay (Clayton Cushmann), mal im Interview und nicht an den Saiten, l\u00e4sst mich da N\u00e4heres \u00fcber die Band erfahren.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

HF: Dem Namen und Genre nach h\u00e4tte ich euch erst einmal in die nordischen Gefilde wie Schweden oder Finnland einsortiert. Wenn ich an Colorado denke, habe ich sofort die Rocky Mountains vor Augen, die mir weniger kalt und d\u00fcster erscheinen als die W\u00e4lder der oben genannten Regionen. Was hat euch bewogen, diesen Bandnamen zu w\u00e4hlen? Gibt es da eine Entstehungsgeschichte?<\/strong><\/p>\n

C:<\/em><\/strong> Oh, oh! Viele Siedler starben bis an die Z\u00fcgel erfroren in den felsigen Bergen, sie k\u00f6nnen K\u00e4lte und Dunkelheit im \u00dcberfluss verursachen. Wie ihr jedoch wisst, ist das Thema der Wikinger im Underground Metal weit verbreitet, und 2007 dachten wir, die Mythologie w\u00e4re ein guter Rahmen f\u00fcr unsere experimentelle Metal-Band. Wir hatten B\u00fccher wie das Kalevala und die Poetische Edda Jahre vor der Gr\u00fcndung gelesen, und es gibt eine Menge Ideen in diesen Texten, gelinde gesagt. Der Name war etwas willk\u00fcrlich gew\u00e4hlt, wir wollten nur \u00abSleipnir\u00bb aber das wurde genommen.<\/em><\/p>\n

HF: Wieso habt ihr euch gerade f\u00fcr den \u201eschwarzen Metall\u201c entschieden? Wer sind eure Vorbilder, die euch diesbez\u00fcglich beeinflusst haben?<\/strong><\/p>\n

C:<\/em><\/strong> Niemand im Black Metal ist ein Vorbild, und ehrlich gesagt betrachten wir nichts, was wir tun, als \u00abBlack Metal.\u00bb” Nat\u00fcrlich gibt es da einen gewissen Einfluss \u2013 wir waren ein bisschen an der Szene Anfang\/Mid 2000 beteiligt. und wir alle haben eine Menge Black Metal Platten in unseren Kollektionen.<\/em><\/p>\n

HF: Was inspiriert euch beim Schreiben, Komponieren und Einspielen neuer Songs? Ist es \u00fcberwiegend die nordische Mythologie? Wie gestaltet ihr eure Proben, gibt es eine besondere Aufgabenverteilung? Euer S\u00e4nger und Drummer hat ja seine k\u00fcnstlerische Ader schon beim Cover des aktuellen Albums \u201eEventide\u201c bewiesen.<\/strong><\/p>\n

C:<\/em><\/strong> So ziemlich alles kann uns inspirieren, ich lasse mich von neuer Musik inspirieren Haupts\u00e4chlich– Ich versuche, originelle Ideen in meinen Texten zu rahmen und dabei mythologische \u00c4sthetik zu verwenden. Wahrscheinlich 1 von 3 Melodien, die ich mache Ich ziehe etwas aus einem alten Text, wenn es zu dem passt, was ich mache. David Csicsely k\u00fcmmert sich um die Kunst und das Design (genial, m\u00f6chte ich hinzuf\u00fcgen) – Mein Job ist das Aufnehmen und Engineering- abgesehen davon, dass es ein kostenloses f\u00fcr alle ist.<\/em><\/p>\n

HF: Wenn die derzeitigen Einschr\u00e4nkungen wieder Konzerte zulassen, gibt es da schon Pl\u00e4ne bez\u00fcglich Auftritten oder vielleicht sogar einer Tour in oder durch Europa? Was w\u00e4re da eure Wunschtour und mit welchen Bands?<\/strong><\/p>\n

C:<\/em><\/strong> Ja, wir arbeiten mit Doomstar zusammen, um im Herbst 2021 eine Tour mit Dread Sovereign quer durch die EU zu machen. Einige Termine wurden auf unserer Website ver\u00f6ffentlicht, und wir hoffen wirklich, dass dies geschieht. Eine Traumtour f\u00fcr mich ist es, vor unseren Fans zu spielen. Eine Band f\u00fcr eine \u00abTraumtour\u00bb auszuw\u00e4hlen, ist hart, weil ich nicht wei\u00df, wer ein Arschloch ist und wer nicht, aber ich werde antworten: Ulver. Und sie gehen nicht auf Tournee! Die Ironie.<\/em><\/p>\n

HF: Gibt es schon Zukunftspl\u00e4ne und Ziele, die ihr hier an dieser Stelle vielleicht schon verraten w\u00fcrdet?<\/strong><\/p>\n

C:<\/em><\/strong> Seit Eventide 2019 im Grunde fertiggestellt wurde, haben wir ein weiteres Album in der Tasche, und es ist ganz anders als Eventide. Ich habe erst vor ein paar Tagen den ersten Durchgang beim Mixen gemacht!<\/em><\/p>\n

The Flight Of Sleipnir\u201d, five questions to the quartet from Colorado\/USA. I\u2019m very excited to hear what I\u2019m going to learn from the four. Clay (Clayton Cushmann), once in an interview and not on the strings, lets me learn more about the band.<\/strong><\/p>\n

HF: According to the name and genre, I would have sorted you into the Nordic regions like Sweden or Finland. When I think of Colorado, I immediately see the Rocky Mountains, which seem less cold and gloomy to me than the forests of the above regions. What made you choose this band name? Is there a history?<\/strong><\/p>\n
C:<\/em><\/strong> oh! Plenty of settlers died frozen to their reins in the rocky mountains, they can inflict cold and gloom aplenty. However, as you know the Viking theme is rampant across underground metal, and in 2007 we thought the mythology would be a good frame for our experimental metal band. We had read books like the Kalevala and the Poetic Edda years before the formation, and there are a lot of ideas in those texts, to say the least. The name was chosen somewhat arbitrarily, we wanted just “Sleipnir” but that was taken.<\/em><\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
HF: Why did you just choose the \u201cblack metal\u201d? Who are your role models that have influenced you in this regard?<\/strong><\/p>\n
C:<\/em><\/strong> Nobody in black metal is a role model, and quite frankly we do not consider anything we do “black metal.” Of course, there is some influence– we participated in that scene a bit in the early\/mid 2000’s and we all have a lot of black metal records in our collections.<\/em><\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
HF: What inspires you when writing, composing and recording new songs? Is it predominantly Nordic mythology? How do you design your rehearsals, is there a special distribution of tasks? Your singer and drummer has already proved his artistic spirit on the cover of the current album \u201cEventide.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n
C:<\/em><\/strong> Just about anything can inspire us, I take inspiration from hearing new music mostly– I try to frame original ideas in my lyrics while using mythological aesthetic. Probably 1 out of 3 tunes I do I will pull something from an ancient text if it suits what I am doing. David Csicsely does handle all the art and design (brilliantly, I will add)- my job is recording and engineering- other than that it’s a free for all. <\/em><\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
HF: If the current restrictions allow gigs again, are there any plans for gigs or maybe even a tour in or around Europe? What would be your dream tour and with which bands?<\/strong><\/p>\n
C:<\/em><\/strong> Yes, we are working with Doomstar to do a tour with Dread Sovereign across much of the EU in Autumn 2021. Some dates have been posted on our website, and we really hope this happens. A dream tour for me is playing in front of our fans. Choosing a band to “dream tour” with is tough because I don’t know who’s an asshole and who’s not, but I’m going to answer: Ulver. And they don’t tour! The irony.<\/em><\/p>\n

HF: Are there any plans for the future that you might already reveal here?<\/strong><\/p>\n
C:<\/em><\/strong> Since Eventide was basically finished in 2019, we have another album in our pocket, and it is very different from Eventide. I just did the first pass at mixing a couple days ago!<\/em><\/p>\n
