Das Foto von Magma Rise<\/strong> auf Bandcamp und auch das Cover ihrer neuen Platte schauen so aus, als spielten die Ungarn NOLA-Sludge. Das stimmt aber nur bedingt. Fans von Crowbar (wie ich) d\u00fcrften an ihrer Musik zwar durchaus Gefallen finden, aber Fans von Candlemass (wie ich) mindestens genauso sehr. Ja, ich w\u00fcrde so weit gehen und Magma Rise sehr viel eher als Epic Doom denn als Sludge oder Stoner Metal bezeichnen \u2013 auch wenn die Optik was anderes sagt.<\/p>\n

Doch ist das gehopst wie gesprungen, denn mir pers\u00f6nlich sind alle genannten Schubladen gleich lieb. Letztendlich viel wichtiger ist eh, dass Magma Rise ganz einfach richtig gute Musik machen: Die Riffs sitzen, bleiben h\u00e4ngen; die Leads sind \u00fcberaus gef\u00fchlvoll, der klare, erhabene Gesang genauso; der Sound ist wohlig warm, organisch. Und L\u00e4ngen kommen \u00fcberhaupt keine auf. Allerdings dauert “To Earth To Ashes To Dust”<\/strong> auch nur rund 35 Minuten \u2014 was bei mir dann meist dazu f\u00fchrt, dass ich sie mir gleich zweimal hintereinander h\u00f6re. Und das sehr gerne. <\/p>\n
