Manche Sachen werden nie alt. Guter alter Old School Death Metal zum Beispiel. Der ist ewig jung. Coffin Mulch<\/strong> aus Glasgow spielen solchen. Und ihnen dabei auf ihrer Deb\u00fct-EP “Septic Funeral<\/strong>” zuzuh\u00f6ren, ist eine echte Freude. Das hat drei Gr\u00fcnde:<\/p>\n

  1. Death Metal l\u00e4uft bei mir oft so ab: Ich h\u00f6r’s, ich mag’s, aber im Nachhinein kann ich mich an nichts erinnern. Das ist hier anders. Es bleibt einiges h\u00e4ngen. Nicht wie bei Bolt Thrower, aber doch deutlich mehr als bei durchschnittlichem Todesblei.<\/li>\n
  2. Die sechs Songs dauern gerade mal 20 Minuten, aber was in diesen 20 Minuten passiert, ist doch ziemlich erstaunlich. Mal gibt das Quartett Vollgas, mal groovt es, mal verf\u00e4llt es in fast schon doomige Tempi.<\/li>\n
  3. Die Produktion. Meine Fresse, was ist das f\u00fcr ein geiler Sound! Die Gitarren scheinen einen mords Hunger zu haben, die Drums sind maximal knackig \u2014 jeder Beat ein echter Hieb! Und auch der Bass kommt im Mix nicht zu kurz, ebensowenig die kraftvoll gegrunzten Vocals.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Fazit: Ich bin gespannt, was von Coffin Mulch k\u00fcnftig noch kommen wird und verbleibe einstweilen mit 9 von 10 Hellfire<\/strong><\/em>-Punkten.<\/p>\n
