THE CULT <\/strong>ist der achte Langspieler der polnischen Heavy Metaller:innen CRYSTAL VIPER <\/strong>und das Deb\u00fct von Cederick Forsberg <\/em>(Blazon Stone, Rocka Rollas<\/em>) an den Drums. Ich bin mit der Formation um S\u00e4ngerin Marta Gabriel <\/em>nie wirklich warm geworden: hier ein Ausrei\u00dfer nach Oben, da einer nach Unten. Dazwischen viel Classic Heavy-Standardware. <\/p>\n

Auch THE CULT <\/strong>pl\u00e4tschert eher als Hintergrundmusik so vor sich hin: mal schnell (“Flaring madness”), mal Midtempo (“The calling”), mal heroisch “(Sleeping giants”) mal hymnisch (“Whispers from beyond”). Gelegentliche (in meinen Augen f\u00fcrchterliche und \u00fcberfl\u00fcssige) Gangshouts (“Forgotten lands”), dazu ein paar Soli und fertig ist ein Album ohne besondere H\u00f6hepunkte. <\/p>\n

Die eher durchschnittliche Instrumentalisierung wird durch Marta Gabriels<\/em> Powergesang zwar aus der absolut grauen Masse rausgehoben, vom v\u00f6llig misslungenen Cover von King Diamonds <\/em>“Welcome home” h\u00e4tte aber auch sie besser ihre Finger gelassen.<\/p>\n

Nach einem letzten gescheiterten Anlauf den Stellenwert von CRYSTAL VIPER <\/strong>zu verstehen gebe ich mich geschlagen und 5,5<\/strong> von 10 Hellfire-Punkten<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
