KITCHEN WITCH<\/strong> sind aus Adelaide in Australien und haben aktuell mit “Earth and Ether” ihren zweiten Langspieler am Start. Stilistisch ist die Band im leicht okkult angehauchten Stoner Rock mit einem dicken Schuss Pop-Appeal zu Hause. Letzterer ist vor allem der tollen S\u00e4ngerin Georgie Cosson zu verdanken, die die \u00fcberaus eing\u00e4ngigen Gesangsmelodien tonsicher zu Geh\u00f6r bringt. Dabei klingt sie \u2014 anders als so manche Kollegin \u2014 nie \u00fcberkandidelt, sondern jederzeit nat\u00fcrlich, authentisch und \u00fcberaus sympathisch.<\/p>\n

Auch ihre drei Jungs \u00fcberzeugen: An der Gitarre sch\u00fcttelt sich Conor Kinsella so gef\u00e4llige wie kreative Riffs und Gitarrenl\u00e4ufe aus dem \u00c4rmel, wobei es mir besonders der Mittelteil von “Sunrise” angetan hat. Simon Elliot und John Russo am Bass und am Schlagzeug tragen mit sch\u00f6n Boogie-lastigem Spiel ihren Teil zum leicht verdaulichen H\u00f6rgenuss bei.<\/p>\n

Nur eines gef\u00e4llt mir nicht so besonders: Die Produktion ist f\u00fcr meine Ohren ein wenig zu sauber. Da fehlt mir einfach der Dreck.<\/p>\n

Nichtsdestotrotz ist “Earth and Ether” ein h\u00f6renswertes Album mit souver\u00e4nem Songwriting und bekommt von mir deshalb 8 von 10 Hellfire<\/strong><\/em>-Punkten.<\/p>\n
