Der Vorab-Release des titelgebenden CARNIVORE <\/strong>stimmte mich eher verhalten in meiner Erwartungshaltung gegen\u00fcber dem neuen Album von BODY COUNT<\/strong>. Die Ver\u00f6ffentlichung von Bloodlust<\/em> 2017 zeigte Bandkopf Ice-T<\/em> und seine Mitstreiter auf der H\u00f6he ihres Schaffens. Deshalb wurde durch das dumpfe und wenig mitrei\u00dfende “Carnivore” die Vorfreude erstmal etwas ged\u00e4mpft.<\/p>\n

Der Rest des Albums hingegen schl\u00e4gt ein wie eine Bombe. Neben einem geilen Cover von Mot\u00f6rheads <\/em>“Ace of Spades” (das konzeptuell an “Raining in Blood\/Postmortem” vom Vorg\u00e4ngeralbum ankn\u00fcpft) gibt es noch ein weiteres von Ice-T<\/em>s 1988er Hit “Colors” in metallischem Gewand. Dazu gesellen sich geniale Feature-Tracks mit Riley Gale <\/em>von Power Trip <\/em>(“Point the finger”), Jamey Jasta <\/em>von Hatebreed <\/em>(“Another Level”) und am ungew\u00f6hnlichsten herausragend mit Amy Lee<\/em> von Evanescence <\/em>(ein H\u00f6hepunkt des Albums).<\/p>\n

Mit den restlichen Liedern zeigen sich BODY COUNT <\/strong>in gewohntem Oldschool-Sound: Der Mix aus Rap, Thrash Metal und Hardcore Punk erm\u00f6glicht eine Bandbreite von Spielarten und Tempowechseln, die BODY COUNT <\/strong>gro\u00dfartig verschmelzen lassen. Gewohnt w\u00fctend (mit den \u00fcblichen Spoken Word-Einsch\u00fcben) verabschieden sie den H\u00f6rer mit “The Hate is Real”. Darauf folgen mit einem Unreleased Demotrack (“In tha Morning”) und zwei Live-Mitschnitten der Bloodlust<\/em>-Kracher “No lives matter” und “Black Hoodie” noch drei Leckerlis f\u00fcr Fans und Sammler. Nice-to-Have, aber diese Bonus-Tracks h\u00e4tte CARNIVORE <\/strong>nicht gebraucht, um dem b\u00e4renstarken Vorg\u00e4nger weitere Taten folgen zu lassen.<\/p>\n
