Die Bay Area Titanen MACHINE HEAD<\/strong> haben ihren brandneuen Song “Circle the Drain” <\/strong>ver\u00f6ffentlicht.
\nH\u00f6rt ihn euch hier an:<\/p>\n

<\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n“Der Titel ist von einem Bekannten inspiriert, der aus Afghanistan zur\u00fcckkehrte, nur um anzusehen, wie seine Beziehung zerbricht”, <\/em>sagt S\u00e4nger\/Gitarrist Robb Flynn<\/strong>. “Sie hatte ihn betrogen und wurde dann so paranoid zu glauben, er habe sie betrogen und sie machte ihn wahnsinnig. <\/em>In einer Unterhaltung am Valentinstag sagte er mir, die Beziehung w\u00fcrde in langsamen Kreisen den Abfluss runter gehen (“they were just circling the drain\u201d\u2026 ) dieser Vergleich ist mir im Ged\u00e4chtnis geblieben. Ein paar Tage sp\u00e4ter habe ich das dann in den Song eingearbeitet, an dem ich gerade arbeitete. <\/em><\/p>\nEs war meinem Leben zu diesem Zeitpunkt unglaublich nahe, nachdem zwei Bandmitglieder gegangen waren und zwei Paare im Freundeskreis meiner Frau und mir sich scheiden lie\u00dfen. Es war eine Zeit der Trennungen. Und das wirkte sich auf all jene aus, die sich auf irgendeine Seite stellten, die nicht mehr zu bestimmten Events eingeladen wurden; es war eine Zeit sozialen und emotionalen Drucks. Der ganze Mist, der eben passiert, wenn eine Beziehung in die Br\u00fcche geht.<\/em><\/p>\nSich anzuschauen, wie er damit umgeht, half mir dabei, mich durch meinen eigenen Kram zu k\u00e4mpfen. Die Lyrics zu ‘Circle The Drain’ kommen aus dieser Zeit, die mich sehr frustriere. Es ist ein trauriger Song \u00fcber zerbrochene Beziehungen, aber gleichzeitig auch \u00fcber die Akzeptanz dessen, dass es vorbei ist, und dass du jetzt weitermachen musst. Ich habe es recht metaphorisch gehalten, weil ich nicht wollte, dass es tats\u00e4chlich von meinem Leben handelt, sondern \u00fcber das Leben von jedem, der durch so eine schwere Zeit gehen muss. Es wird sich nicht jeder mit dem Song identifizieren k\u00f6nnen, besonders nicht diejenigen, die eine feste Beziehung haben, aber wenn jemals der Tag kommt, an dem euer Leben schief l\u00e4uft, ist dieser Song wie eine Rettungsleine, etwas, das euch helfen kann, euch wieder aus diesem dunklen Abgrund zu ziehen. \n  \nDie Ironie, dass er und ich diese Konversation am Valentinstag hatten und wir den Song jetzt am Valentinstag ver\u00f6ffentlichen ist mir nicht entgangen, es ist eben tats\u00e4chlich der Anti-Valentinstag-Song.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\nDer Song wurde erneut von Robb Flynn<\/strong> (MACHINE HEAD<\/strong>s – “Through The Ashes Of Empires”<\/strong>, “The Blackening”<\/strong>, “Bloodstone & Diamonds”<\/strong>) produziert, mit Zach Ohren<\/strong> (ALL SHALL PERISH<\/strong>, SUICIDE SILENCE<\/strong>, MACHINE HEAD<\/strong>) als Co-Produzent in den Sharkbite Studios in Oakland. Joel Wanasek<\/strong> (ATTILA<\/strong>, BLOODLINE<\/strong>) war erneut f\u00fcr die Post-Produktion verantwortlich, w\u00e4hrend Russ Russell<\/strong> (AT THE GATES<\/strong>, THE WILDHEARTS<\/strong>, DIMMU BORGIR<\/strong>) in den Parlour Studios UK f\u00fcr den harten, gitarrenlastigen Song-Mix zust\u00e4ndig war. Das Mastering \u00fcbernahm Greg Grimaldi<\/strong> von Oasis Mastering, der auch schon \u201cThrough The Ashes Of Empires\u201d <\/strong>masterte. Auf dem Song \u201cCircle The Drain”<\/strong> h\u00f6rt man Navene Koperweis<\/strong> (ENTHEOS<\/strong>, WHITECHAPEL<\/strong>, ANIMALS AS LEADERS<\/strong>, ANIMOSITY<\/strong>) am Schlagzeug. Das Artwork der Single wurde von Christian Sampson<\/strong> geschaffen, basierend auf seinem Foto-Projekt \u00fcber Psychische Krankheiten. Sampson<\/strong> stellte eine Liste mit 12 Psychischen St\u00f6rungen zusammen, von Depression \u00fcber Schizophrenie bis hin zu Schlaflosigkeit.
