P\u00fcnktlich zum 25-j\u00e4hrigen Bandbestehen ver\u00f6ffentlichten die Portugiesen von IRONSWORD<\/strong> <\/strong>ein neues Album. Eines, das von vielen Trve Metallern aus dem Underground nostalgisch dankend angenommen werden kann. Knapp zwei Jahre nach dem Tod von Manilla Road<\/em>-Mastermind Mark Shelton<\/em> kommt mit SERVANTS OF STEEL <\/strong>etwas, das durch und durch vor Manilla Road <\/em>trieft. <\/p>\n

Die Texte des Albums basieren auf Kurzgeschichten von Robert E. Howard. <\/em>Jeder Fantasy-Metaller trifft hier also voll ins Schwarze. Ebenso jeder H\u00f6rer, der Epic Metal der kernigen und ungeschliffenen Schule von Ravensire <\/em>oder eben Manilla Road <\/em>mag. Zwei Feature mit deren S\u00e4nger Bryan Patrick<\/em> runden die Hommage an die durch den Todesfall aufgel\u00f6ste Band ab. <\/p>\n

Dennoch klingt SERVANTS OF STEEL <\/strong>nicht wie eine billige Kopie, sondern atmet einfach durch und durch den Spirit der Kultband. Anders w\u00fcrde sich eine mehr als 20-j\u00e4hrige Koexistenz bei gleichzeitiger Wertsch\u00e4tzung durch den Gegen\u00fcber auch kaum erkl\u00e4ren lassen. Nun, wo Manilla Road <\/em>tragischerweise aufgel\u00f6st sind, kommt IRONSWORD <\/strong>bei Fans wom\u00f6glich eine noch gr\u00f6\u00dfere Bedeutung zu. <\/p>\n

Von mir jedenfalls gibt es 7,5 von 10 Hellfire-Punkten<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
